The FE 85mm F1.4 GM II carries on the acclaimed performance of the previous model with a new optical design that controls chromatic aberration for more natural bokeh. All of this means smooth transitions from sharp focus to deep bokeh at F1.4.

2 XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors and high-speed control give the FE 85mm F1.4 GM II AF speed that is up to 3x faster than previous model. Moving subject tracking is improved by as much as 7x, allowing reliable capture even when using extremely narrow depth of field at F1.4. The 120 fps capability of the α9 III with its global shutter is fully supported. The FE 85mm F1.4 GM II offers extraordinary creative control for serious portraiture.

2 XA (extreme aspherical) elements achieve eye-opening resolution right out to the image edges, while 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements minimise chromatic aberration. Eyes and expressions can be captured with stunning clarity regardless of framing. Sony's Nano AR Coating II suppresses flare and ghosting in just about any lighting.
