In 1948, the brothers Pierre and Joseph Bron established Bron & Co. in Basel, Switzerland. They coated lenses, sold X-ray systems, and imported and distributed photographic equipment. In 1958, the brothers founded Bron Elektronik AG to develop, manufacture, and globally market professional studio flash units. In the 1970s and 1980s, Bron expanded its distribution network and opened subsidiaries in all major markets. Today, Bron Elektronik operates from Allschwil in Switzerland.
